Shri Rajiv Lochan Mandir

 

This temple opens at 6 am in the morning till 7:30 pm in the evening. The temple was built during the 8th century in Rajim, near Raipur city. RajivaLochana literally means in the shastras “the beautiful one-eyes” and represents Lord Vishnu. The temple significant example of the architecture of Mahakosala.

The temple consists of 12 pillars and each of the pillars are beautifully carved with figures of various God and Goddess like Lord Rama, Lord Vishnu, Lord Narasimha, and Goddess Durga. The temple is standing at the congregation of 3 rivers i.e. Pairy, Mahanadi, and Sondhu. The temple impresses its tourists with its main design made of Chaitya arch wooden motif.

Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary

 

You have to pay to visit this sanctuary but its worth to pay. You can visit from 7 AM to 6 PM here on all days. the wildlife sanctuary situated in the Northern part of Mahasamund district was established during 1976 on a huge area of 245 Sq.km. The sanctuary is ranked as the seventh position in the popular attractions of Raipur.

This sanctuary is the home to a number of leopards, Tigers, Porcupine, Antelopes, Pythons, Bison, and many other species. As you walk in through the muddy paths, herons, parrots, egrets, porcupines, black bucks, monkeys, peafowl, and other species are sure to catch your attention. Also, you will sure to get surprised by seeing the barking deer here.

Chitrakot Waterfalls

 

Anybody can visit this waterfall for free of cost between 6.30 AM to 6.30 PM. This is located 50 km away from Jagdalpur of Bastar District. The Chitrakot waterfalls made when the waters of River Indravati flows from the Vindhu Mountain range. This is the largest waterfalls of India which is often called as Niagara Falls of India also and is a great place to visit during the rainy season.

This wonderful waterfall is horse shaped and dense and thickly forested which gives the spectators a great view to enjoy. The stunning and captivating areas surrounded the waterfall. The birds sitting at the corners of the waterfalls enhance the beauty of the place as you watch.

Rajeev Smriti Van

 

This place is located 12 kilometres away from the Raipur city and open for public on all days. As its name shows this was built in memory of Former Prime Minister LT. Rajeev Gandhi. This is a unique conservation site. This is spread in a huge area of 14 acres. The purpose to create this Van was public awareness towards conservation of Nature.

The unique attractivity feature of Rajeev Smriti Van is that everything over here runs on Solar Energy. This has a marvellous view and explains about the trees, nature, and environment in a practical way. You can also visit the nearby attractions like Bastar, Balaji Temple, Arang, Bhilai, and Champaran.

Mahakoshal Art Gallery

The Cultural Department of Chhattisgarh Government developed this Purkhauti Muktangan and is spread over a huge 18 hectare of land. This exhibits the entire natural resources with existing infrastructures and industries.

Bhoramdeo Temple

 

You must visit Bhoramdeo Temple if you want to get back into the ancient past and explore all those temples. This place was constructed during the 7th -11th century and is popular as the Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh. This temple is 18Km away from Kawardha and built at the foot of Maikal range of hills.

A spectacular view of the whole city can be seen from here. The temple is beautifully decorated and looks spectacular.

Tirathgarh Falls

 

This is located at a distance of 35 km. towards the South-west of Jagdalpur lies this magnificent waterfalls. This picnic spot will provide you with a combination of fun, picnic, entertainment, and adventure. This Tirathgarh Falls is at the Kanger Valley national Park. This is one of the best picnic spots in Jagdalpur as well. You can spend some time at small temple which is located opposite to the falls over a huge rock of this 300 feet fall.

Kanger Valley National Park (Jagdalpur)

 

This national park is situated on river Kolab in the area of 34 Km long. The Kanger Valley National Park was established during 1982 and bounded by numerous villages on all of its sides. This park gets the name derived from the Kanger River and declared as one of the Asian Biosphere Reserve.

The Park is surrounded by a rich biodiversity of fauna like Barking deer, Chikara, Jackal, Chital, Hyena, Buck, Wild boar, Drongo, and some rare mouse deer. Don’t forget this last but not the least thing that complete your trip by taking the Safari rides.

MM Fun City, Raipur

This is a best place to have fun and to collect memories. This is located on the Baktara Godhi Road at Raipur. This opens on weekdays from 10.30 Am to 8 Pm. This awesome fun world has various Fun water slides, kid’s zone, rain dance, restaurant, family pool, and wave pool. 5 to 6 hours won’t be enough to get the full dhamaal and fun from here.
